January 10, 2026 11:00pm to 12:30pm
Many of us move through life expecting that challenges will eventually disappear if we do the right things. In truth, however, stress and adversity will always be a part of life. While we have limited control over what happens to us, we can choose how we think and react. This is what resilience is all about. Resilience is also about moving forward because stressful times can be great growth opportunities.
The goal of this course is to help you effectively deal with challenges, enjoy greater wellbeing, and pursue a life you feel is most worth living. In particular, we will explore and build those qualities that will help you overcome challenges and deal with setbacks on your life’s journey. We will do this using principals drawn from the science and practice of positive psychology. Positive psychology focuses on using our positive qualities to pursue our ideal life. This does not mean ignoring or denying life’s uncontrollable downsides. Rather, it means that we learn to focus on the things we can control and do so by using our strengths and taking advantage of opportunities.
